Fountain Park Chautauqua'

The kids and I just got back from our annual camping trip to Fountain Park Chautauqua. Fountain Park is hard to explain to most people. Unless you grew up going there you just normally don't get why it is fun! No lake, no pool, no tv, no phones (well cell phones now) but you just talk, play cards and the kids play.

For the kids their day usually started at 9 a.m. with painting some pictures. Next was the morning sports games. That could be "capture the flag", soccer, or ulitmate frisbee. At 11 a.m. story hour began for the younger kids. And a on tuesday and thursdays there were crafts for the kids. They decorated cookies, painted flowers pots and made braclets. And there are daily shows at 3 p.m. 8 p.m. After the 3 o'clock show, there was another activity time. We did gaint bubbles, tie die shirts and all kinds of things! After the evening program there were some activities also.
There was bon fires with s'mores, ice cream social, the watermelon feast and some savanger hunts!

So it is a special place to me and the kids already know that every July that is what we do! They are making friends there that they see only once a year and it is fun for me to watch them grow each year!

Oh yeah...they also do Olympics one Saturday. They do a .5 mile run, frisbee throw, 3 legged race, sack race, and the kids get ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!
